100 homemade flowerpot series: Gourd flowerpot

Gourd is one of the mascots in traditional Chinese culture. It is believed that it can ward off evil spirits and attract wealth and fortune by hanging in the front of door and window. It is loved by all ages.

In daily life, people make it into different tools, crafts and arts etc.. Today we will use gourd to make a flowerpot.

Firstly, cut the gourd with a saw, knife, or whatever you can use.

Use sandpaper to smoothen the edges, make it look nicer and neater.

Put a piece of plastic film which is big enough into the gourd, or coating the inner of the gourd with epoxy sealer which helps waterproof.

I am using plastic film here, spreading it into the inner of the gourd. This will protect the gourd and prevent it from rotting.

Cut the edges of the plastic film to make it look nicer, then fill it with soil.

Put your succulents in the gourd. And it is done! So easy, isn’t it?
